Prof. Yemi Osinbajo : 3 Million jobs to be created over the next 3 years
In a statement released by Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he acknowledged the receipt of ‘the Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan on youth employment in Nigeria’.
Based on the framework, 3 million jobs would be created over the next 3 years in a private sector-led drive.
He also acknowledged challenges in the business sector and stated that the government is working on creating an enabling business environment.
Job creation plans are nothing new in the Nigerian political sphere. We, at @10taclesng would fulfill our part by keeping the government on its toes especially as regards fulfilling its numerous promises.
The exact statement as released by the Vice President reads :
“President Muhammadu Buhari and I are accountable to the Nigerian people.
Today, I received the Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan on job creation and youth employment in Nigeria.
It was a plan packaged by the Job Creation Unit of the Presidency, and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG.
Three million jobs would be created in the country within three years starting in 2016.
This private sector-led job creation plan is different from the direct government jobs planned by President Buhari’s administration.
We are not unaware that this process of job creation is slow but President Buhari is addressing the constraints in the business sector.
The Job Creation Unit was constituted at the behest of President Buhari to initiate the job creation plan.
The NESG, private sector players, validated the plan and will be working together with the government to implement the job creation plans.
Together, we will get this right.
Together, Nigeria will prevail.”
